All We Ever Had

All We Ever Had, Buildings
All We Ever Had
The devastating scenes of Mexico Beach, Florida following Hurricane Michael in 2018 were hard to look at. Lives were lost, hundreds of homes were destroyed and the landscape told a story only of pain and loss for a community which was already among the poorest on the Gulf Coast. This pile of rubble was someone's home and it would be carted away by a demolition crew before the painting was finished.
