Every year many young men from Niger arrive in Abidjan (Ivory Coast) looking for work. Some get to be the 'street tailors' called 'Tokotoko'. They carry their sewing machine from house to house in the heat of never-ending summer looking for work. This is a compelling image that I know I will be painting. For now its charcoal and chalk on Strathmore tinted paper.
