I'm a fan of the older, scruffy farms of my youth, when the farm was also a haven of the wildlife and a place where nature was not subjected to the trimmers and groomers. The old farms are where massive trees thrived in the woodland pastures of Kentucky. The blue ash trees are a species that are not reproducing any longer, and I wanted to memorialize them in their fields, set in place with some of the more beautiful weeds that also thrive with a little "grunge".
