Lunchtime

This watercolour painting is of a jaguar we met at the Magnetic Hill Zoo in New Brunswick, Canada a few years ago. She was quite protective of her lunch and gave us quite a show. Her brother, sharing the enclosure with her, was about 30feet away and he was still too close. When I shared this on my Instagram account a few months ago, through the "magic" of the internet, I was able to connect to her keeper and, it was with great pleasure that I found out that her keeper had recognized her and she was able to confirm the "character reference!"
