This oil painting, on gallery stretched cotton canvas, started as a quick sketch and a few photos from an outing at the Magnetic Hill Zoo in New Brunswick Canada. This fellow was beautiful to watch! So calm and in control of his domain, he just stayed there "posing" for me ( well, it felt that way!) and I was able to capture his essence both on paper, camera but also in my mind.
