I'm fascinated by the variations of colors within "greens" and the myriad of other colors hidden in them such as reds, purple, and blue. This scene is based on a plein air painting I created at Bluffstrokes in Dubuque Iowa at the top of a hill. What lies in the valley beyond the trees is the Mississippi River.
