Laguna Noche

My favorite time of night....twilight. After dinner in Laguna Beach, CA, I set up to do a quick oil sketch just as the sky went dark blue and the lights from the buildings became the brightest sources of light. The waves of the ocean were ghostly by sight but you could hear them crash. I just loved the twinkle of lights near and far and the reflections in the water. This painting was done in studio from the oil sketch and a reference photo.
